Access skills to live differently.

We are a center for Radically Open Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT). Our group of clinicians have been intensively trained in this evidence-based treatment to help those who are negatively impacted by over-control of their emotions and behaviors. We provide individual therapy and skills classes, as well as mediation, couples therapy and teen therapy.

What is RO-DBT?

RO-DBT (Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy) is a trans-diagnostic treatment designed to address a spectrum of difficult-to-treat disorders, including Chronic Depression, Anxiety, some Personality Disorders, Anorexia Nervosa, and Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder. Core Counseling utilizes the RO-DBT concepts of skills training, flexible mindfulness and education, creating a willingness to be receptive and open to your environment and/or social feedback, as well as acceptance of emotions, thoughts and behavior. RO-DBT balances self-inquiry, empathy, and warm acceptance with behavior change.

Our Philosophy

As clinical therapists, we believe that everyone has the right to access skills and learn strategies to live differently. We focus on decreasing suffering, increasing opportunities and experiences, and altering ineffective behaviors. These skills are not guaranteed as part of an individual's genetic makeup nor required to be modeled in one's upbringing, but they can be learned. We have found that these targets ultimately support experiencing a life of realized potential, personal meaning and a sense of belonging.
